That Feeling When You're Denied the Perfect Shoes

Hello everyone!

Today was a stressful day. Perhaps it wouldn't be stressful normally (I'm kinda going through PMS at the moment, so give me a break, okay?), but today was just crazy.

And for one simple reason.

Shoes.

Now, my interests throughout high school certainly didn't fall in line with what people stereotype most girls' interests as. I could have cared less about make up, shoes, hair products, hats... I didn't have an interest in any of these things, unless there was something really special about a certain shoe, or if the hat had a video game or anime reference.

My interests back then leaned much more towards my geeky side. My Christmas lists were filled with pretty much nothing but video games, anime collections, and more video games. I thought getting clothes or accessories for Christmas was the absolute worst!

Now that high school is over, I've finally evened out my geeky side and my girly side a little better, haha. Sure, the Xbox One is right there at the top of my Christmas list, followed by a list of a few new games. But right under that is a hat I've been dying to get, nail polish that my mom insists is too expensive for nail polish ($8), assorted make up, and under all that, with a huge underline and stars around it, was a pair of shoes from Forever 21.

This pair, to be exact: (Standout Brogue Booties)

I wanted these shoes so bad. They were on sale this weekend too, 50% off. Which brought them down to about $18. So they were cheap! They had my size available last night...

But then Cyber Monday happened.

A day I thought I would love, I ended up getting pretty sick of very quickly. By the time I had woken up at 8am, the shoes I was in love with, that I had hoped would be bought tonight as a Christmas present to me, had disappeared. My size was no longer available. The only size that was still in stock was size 10, which was much too large for me!

I know they were just shoes, but they were so perfect for me. I feel like I let the perfect shoes get away from me. The only thing I would be sadder about is if I finally found the perfect pair of pink mary-jane heels, and they somehow also managed to slip through my fingers.

I went through the entire day feeling quite blue, refreshing the page constantly, as if I was hoping by some miracle that my size would magically come back in stock and everything would be great.

Alas, that didn't happen.

All that refreshing that page did was show me size 10 become extinct as well, and before long I was refreshing to a page that said "We're sorry. This item is no longer available."

Anyway, much later on in the night, after I had spent sufficient time sulking and eating dessert to perk myself up, I went back on Forever 21's website (to prolong my torture and see if by some miracle, my shoes were back in stock. No luck there, of course.)

And I found a pair of shoes I hadn't noticed before. These shoes too, were on sale for the same price as the others, and looked quite a bit like the pair of shoes that had alluded me earlier today.

Forever 21's Forever Cool Brogue Booties:

They weren't exactly the same as the other pair, of course. The most noticeable difference being that these shoes were wedge booties, where as the other had quite a thin heel.

 I've never owned wedges. Ever.

I always thought they had sort of an odd shape. And I love heels. So I never bothered with wedges. But I figured these shoes were as close as I was going to get to my dream shoes that I had fallen in love with and lost, all in a time period of less than 24 hours.

And now, these shoes are ordered and ready to ship to my doorstep in just a few days. Alas, since my parents are buying these as a Christmas present for me, I'm not allowed to wear them until Christmas day.

But I'm glad I got these ordered. I checked just a little while ago, and now these shoes are sold out as well!

I had also considered getting these shoes today:

But I decided against it once I saw the booties from Forever 21. If you do like the above shoe, you can get it here. (It comes in black too!) If I have extra money after Christmas, and these shoes are still around, I'll probably be picking up a pair. They're really cute too, after all. I'm just not a huge fan of the whole open toe look. Hmm.

So yeah, torturing myself over a pair of shoes, and making Christmas cards has basically been my entire day. Exciting, no?

So, what do you think about these shoes? Have you had a similar experience? Let me know in the comments!

Cute Puppies and Pretending to be a Photographer

Hey guys!

It's December! One of my favorite months!

Not only is Christmas in only 24 days (which means only 24 days until I get my Xbox One!), but my birthday is in 8 days! On the 9th of December, I'll be turning 22!

 (I'm feeling old already..)

But I didn't make this blog post to freak out about my favorite month. I made it to introduce my puppies (mostly)!

I've shown off Meeko before (the larger, darker puppy), but not his sister, Zoey. This is the first time I've owned two dogs at once, and it has certainly been... an experience. They're both very sweet (besides the fact that Zoey absolutely hates my dad and barks at him every chance she gets. We still don't understand why she despises him so much). And they're very cute. I absolutely love both of these puppies to pieces.

So a few days ago, when it was warmer than it has been lately, I talked my boyfriend, Zach, into stepping outside with me and the puppies so I could take pictures of the two of them.

I had quite a great deal of fun pretending to be a photographer.

Zoey ♥

Zach is Zoey's favorite person in the entire world. It's so cute watching her whenever Zach comes over for a visit. She doesn't leave his side the entire time he's around. I can call for her as sweetly as possible. But no, she wants nothing to do with me.

Meeko ♥
Meeko and Zoey are from the same litter, but I'm not sure which one was born first. Meeko is certainly bigger in size though, so we usually refer to him as her big brother.

Meeko seems to always have his tongue out.
My two puppies are quite adorable together though! Whenever we have to discipline Zoey (for having an accident in the house or tearing something up), we put her in her dog crate. Meeko will then do his best to scratch at the door and the walls, trying to rescue her from her little prison. He hates when Zoey is in trouble.

It's so cute!

And my favorite picture I took that day...

I know it's an pretty terrible picture, but I love the expression on both of their faces! And the expression is so similar between them, you can definitely tell that Zoey is Zach's dog!

(Now go look at the previous picture so you can remember that she is in fact completely adorable.. not funny looking!)

It was getting a little cold for tiny puppies though, so we brought them back inside so they could warm up, but since I was still feeling like I wanted to be a photographer I talked Zach into (with much pleading) being my model for the next ten minutes.

(Warning: Mini-picture spam incoming)

I hate that he can do this with his tongue! I can't!

Experimenting with angles is pretty nifty.

It's almost depressing, looking at all these pictures again. All of that grass... it's going to be gone so soon, replaced with piles of snow.

Oh, how I hate snow.

Anyway, so how did I do? I have a lot farther to go before I can be considered a good photographer, huh? Ha! I had fun anyways, and that's what matters!

I hope you find my puppies as I do!

Do you have any pets? Let me know in the comments!

Combating the Crowd on Black Friday -- Success!

So, how many of you went shopping today? There were some really great deals out there!

Normally I don't go Black Friday shopping, since the crowds are crazy, and I always have this idea in my head that if I go out shopping today, then someone will push me down and a stampede of human feet will run on top of me. This has caused me to shy away from Black Friday shopping for years.

But not this year.

This year I got dressed (reluctantly), grabbed my purse, and braved the crowds. Traffic was crazy, but since I went out with my mom, it was her that had to deal with psychotic drivers (thank goodness). We hit a lot of stores, but I was unfortunately unable to find some of the things I was really hoping for from my outing.

These things being:

  • Cream colored earmuffs
  • Black shorts
  • A black dress
  • A cute black hat
Unfortunately, I couldn't find those things. At least, not at a reasonable price. But I got a few other fantastic things instead!

First off, I'm going to show you the absolute best thing I got during my outing today.

Are you ready for the cuteness?

Is she not the cutest thing ever?!

I don't think I've shown you my newest puppy, Zoey, before. (Don't worry, I'll make a blog post this weekend introducing you.)

But lately, now that it's getting cold, whenever she goes outside she always comes back in shivering like crazy. Even if she's just laying around the house, she'll start shaking since we don't keep our house very warm. So when we went to Petco today, and I saw this adorable little jacket for her, I absolutely had to get it. And she seems so happy now when she wears it. She's no longer shivering, and it doesn't seem to bother her at all.

I was worried she would hate it and we'd have to take it back, but she seems perfectly content with it on. Thank goodness. I was so worried she'd be half-freezing this entire winter.

Now, onto the other things I bought (it isn't much.)

I got three other things this Friday (Well, four, but the fourth is a present for someone. And on the off chance that person decides to visit my blog for some reason, I don't want them seeing it!)

The first is a dress I absolutely fell in love with when I saw it. In case it's hard to tell, the dress itself is pink with a cream-colored (I don't know what the right term for this color is...ivory?) lace overlay. It's incredibly cute!

A close up view of the colors/lace.
I love this dress I got from Deb Shops. The only problem is, the back of the dress, down to the hips, it just bare lace. So you can see my back if I wear it. I've never had a dress with an open back before, and have absolutely no idea what to do about a bra. So if any of you have suggestions, I'd like to hear them. The best thing I can think to do is a skin-toned, strapless bra? I'll have to do some research I suppose!

Next...

These shoes.

I cannot put into words how much I love these shoes. I have a pair of them already in black, which I loved. But as soon as I saw this color, I knew I had to have them. If you love them as much as I do, you can buy them here, also from Deb Shops. They're the prettiest wine red color I've ever seen on a shoe, and although I have absolutely no idea what to wear them with, I'll think of something/buy something eventually for them. (I couldn't pass them up today though at only $10.) Until then, they'll just be sitting in my closet where I can admire them.

And lastly, I got Hard Candy's Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer. I already tried it on, since I had heard great things about it and wanted to try it right away. I'm actually quite happy with it too! The concealer pencil it comes with is very nice as well. I'll have to do a review sometime to show you all why you should be buying Hard Candy concealer!

My parents did some Black Friday shopping today and got something too. And guess what they got...?

Yep! They snagged an Xbox One today! Now my parents own one, my boyfriend owns one... I'm the only one without!

(Which yes, is my fault since I could have been saving money, instead of just asking for it for Christmas. I am aware.)

Oh well. Less than a month left until I get one of these babies for my very own. (Yay!)

So, I would love to know what you got for Black Friday!

Let me know in the comments below! Or, if you made a blog post about it on your blog, link me! I'd love to see!
