Fantasy is More Fun Than Reality

Hey everyone!

Have you ever wished you could be a fantasy race?

I remember watching Lord of the Rings when I was younger, and my jaw nearly dropped when I saw how amazing the elves looked! I was ten years old, and foolishly hoped that if I pinched the ends of my ears enough, they would end up looking like the elf ears from that movie.

(All that resulted in was very red, sore ears though!)

That fascination of elves never really went away though, and I still am absolutely obsessed with them in many video games, movies, or games like Dungeons & Dragons. I love all of the different fantasy races though. Elves, dwarves, hobbits, dragonborns, argonians... the list goes on and on. How fun would it be to have such diverse people in reality? People already look quite different throughout the world, of course, but no one (at least that I'm aware of!) have the ability breath fire, fly, have long pointed ears, or dragon scales covering their body.

My fascination with fantasy races and creatures probably comes from my childhood, which was full of books and video games, both of which taking me to a fantasy realm quite frequently.

So when I saw a certain pair of ears at Anime Iowa 2013, I simply had to buy them.

I have to say, I feel quite awesome when I have these on. I wish I could wear them out. Well, I suppose I technically could wear them out, but I'm certain there would be quite a few people pointing and laughing. (Then again, why should I care what people think?)

This is what they look like when not on an ear. They're very light weight and comfortable, and quite cute. I remember that they come in many different sizes and colors, but I can't for the life of me remember what stand I bought them from.

This is how it sits on the ear. When my hair is down, it covers up the parts up front, so you can't see them. I think it's quite cute, even though I'm not sure when I'm ever going to have the chance to actually wear it.

Would you wear something like this in public?

What's your favorite fantasy creature/race?

A Little Something Different - Hot Topic

Hey everyone!

So, how many of you shop at Hot Topic?

I guess I should admit, that I rarely ever buy anything from that store. It just doesn't really fit my preferred fashion style. There's generally too many skulls and and band references for me to be interested. But when I ventured to the mall not long ago, I did actually pick up a couple things from Hot Topic.

I showed them to you in one of my old posts, but now I finally put them on to take pictures to show them off to you. They're not really something I'm used to wearing. But with the deals on them the day I went, it was impossible to stay no.

(The tags are still on since I was just trying them on again, and I am still too lazy to take them off. Ack.)

I have to admit, that although this style isn't really me, it is great fun to wear! I think I need a pair of knee-high black boots or something to really complete the outfit.

Buying these things at Hot Topic, I also got their Hot Cash deal, which means I get $15 off of $30 in a couple weeks, so I've been checking out their website to see what kind of things I might like. And I don't know if you've noticed lately (if you even go into Hot Topic), but there is a ton of Disney merchandise lately! I suppose technically there is a ton of Disney everywhere lately. But I didn't expect to see it at Hot Topic.  I love so much of the Disney stuff, so I'll probably end up buying that when I go there with my Hot Cash.

There's also a few other things I noticed when browsing the website that caught my eye.

Pictures from Hot Topic website.

1. Disney Sleeping Beauty Forest Dress
This is probably my favorite of the Disney products (I would have listed them all, but that would have been ridiculous. I also really loved the Beauty and the Beast dress, but that is sadly out of stock.

2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Helmet Hoodie
Actually I just want my boyfriend to buy this one (and he apparently wants to, so yay) so I can just randomly wear it around sometimes. I do love Skyrim after all.

3. Minecraft Redstone Ore Night Light
I need this in my life. I really, really do. I love Minecraft, and it looks so pretty in the dark. Plus, it's small enough to instantly become cute to me!

4. Rock Steady Black Diva Dress
I think this is a very gorgeous black dress, although I don't know if I have the figure for it! I love the neckline though!

So, do you shop at Hot Topic? What are your favorite items from their store?

Looking Forward to Spring

Hello everyone!

Today is January 4th, which means there is still a little over 70 days until the first day of spring. Sigh.

After Christmas Day, I'm always instantly sick of Winter. It didn't use to be so. Back when I was in school, winter was my favorite time of year, with the possibility of snow days happening at any time. But now that I'm not in school, I can't find anything good about snow once Christmas is finished with. Snow is pretty, of course. But it's cold, makes the roads hazardous, and my puppies hate it so much I have to carry them each down the stairs of my porch if I want them to do their business.

So, really, I just want spring to get here immediately. Especially since I'm so in love with pastels currently, and want the season to get here so I can start wearing super cute clothing! While out shopping with my mom the other day, I ended up at Walmart and wandered over to their clearance rack to find some really cute things for super cheap!

I love, love, love the purple shorts. They'll be perfect for spring! They were only $5 at Walmart, so they were a really good deal. The floral button-up shirt was only $5 too! I'm not really sure which way I like the shirt, so what do you think? It's buttoned all the way up in the left picture, one button undone in the right picture, and then a few undone in the center picture. Let me know your opinions in the comments below!

While I love the outfit, I'm also partially hoping that it will be too big on me come spring if I lose the weight I want to lose. It's a very conflicting feeling.

Are you planning your spring wardrobe yet?
