Pretty Christmas Corset (and Barefoot Sandals!)

Hey everyone!

I'm super happy! I had actually planned on making a blog post about make up today, but then (exciting) things happened, and I had to post about this instead!

(Don't worry, make up blog post is coming this weekend instead!)

One of my best friends, Kristin, came to my house today to bring along my Christmas present. I fell in love.

She gave me this incredibly beautiful corset! I am absolutely in love with it! It's in my favorite color, with really pretty lace detail at the top and bottom. I've been wanting a corset for a long time, so this gift was Perfect.

(If you're reading this Kristin, you are absolutely amazing. I love you. Thank you!)

The material is really nice, with really pretty detail. It has plastic boning, so it doesn't do a super good job of making my waist much smaller. But I can over look that for the fact that it's so pretty! I'll buy an expensive corset with metal boning soon, I'm sure, but this will still probably be one of my favorite corsets ever. (Kristin knows my tastes so well!)

This will definitely not be the last time you see this corset. I'm going to be doing my best to find different pieces of clothing that work with it so I can wear it around more often! Corsets are, after all, one of my biggest obsessions. (Above even sunglasses!)

And in case anyone was wondering, I don't remember where I bought the skirt (I've had it for forever), but the wrist cuffs were bought at Lolita Garden. (You should totally check out her stuff. She has some pretty adorable things up for sale now.)

And then, after receiving this gorgeous corset, my day was made even better (I didn't think that was possible!) by winning a Grecian Goddess Barefoot Sandal from Catherine Cole Studio!

It's available in gold and silver, but I picked the silver option (since I figured it would match possible outfits better.) I really wanted the gold too though! It was hard to pick!

Aren't they gorgeous? I can't wait until they arrive. So far, this Christmas has been amazing, and it's not even actually started yet!

Pink Polka Dot Nails and New Booties

Hey everyone!

Is anyone else really, really bad at doing their nails? Or is it just me?

I must be so uncoordinated. But I managed to do my nails in a semi-decent way today.

Ta-Da!

I used my new pretty Forever 21 nail polish in Light Pink to decorate my nails. (Which I hardly ever do.)

I really, really love the color, although it's a lot brighter than I thought it would end up being. Brighter than the pictures show. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, or what I wanted, but still super pretty. So I'm still very happy I picked it up!

It was a pretty long, distressing process to put the nail polish on though. I am, after all, very inexperienced in applying nail polish. How do people get it on their nails so well?!

This was my first attempt at putting on the polish:

Can you tell I never wear nail polish? And when I do, it's usually just a single layer of my Cover Girl NailSlicks with built in top coat in Snowflake Frost, which is a really nice shiny white. And it's still transparent enough that if I make mistakes, it's really hard to tell. So that's usually my go to polish when my nails are in need of a little oomph!

(It's also what I used today to do the polka dots, which is why the polka dots aren't too noticeable.)

So after cleaning up around my nail a bit, I was left with this:

Still not perfect, but much better! Then I used a toothpick to dab on some quick polka dots, applied a layer of top coat, and done!

I wish the color came out better on camera. Because really, this nail polish just makes my nails POP! It's not the nearly nude color that my camera shows (which is a little unfortunate, because that's the color I wanted! Agh).

I also need to get a better white polish, because this one is too transparent to get noticeable dots.

Also,

My shoes came in the mail!

I was allowed to try them on to see if they would fit, but then they were taken away to be wrapped up and put under the tree for Christmas day. Sad!

I want to make the shoes a tad more girly though. I'm thinking I'll either buy lace for the sides of the shoe, or I'll buy some lace socks and change the shoelaces out for a white(or cream) ribbon instead. The second sounds easier, but I would love to have lacy shoes as well. What do you guys think??

Sunday Rant & Rave! (Link Up)

Hey lovely readers!

So I recently discovered a really great Link Up by Anything But Ordinary called Rant & Rave. And I think it's a fantastic way to put recent events and thoughts out there! More people should definitely do this. If you do this Link Up as well, be sure to send me a link, because I definitely want to read your Rant & Raves. So, without further ado...

Rave
1. All this snow! Freshly fallen snow is so pretty, and I managed to snap this picture some days ago. I just love how pretty Winter is!

2. Fantastic Gamestop employees. This might be a small thing, but I love the Gamestop employees around where I live. I've heard of people having some pretty horrible experiences with Gamestop, but I've gone to Gamestop so many times that the employees there know me on a first name basis. They're quite fun to chat with and joke around with, and they're always super helpful. Basically, I love Gamestop, even if they are putting smaller companies out of business (which is quite sad really).

3. Pastel colors. Something of a new obsession of mine. I absolutely love pastels in any color. I'm determined to start getting some cute pastel nail polishes, clothes, and shoes!

4. Netflix. I don't know what I did before Netflix came into my life. It's introduced me to so many good shows, and allowed me to continue my favorite series, like Merlin, How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, Black Butler, and the Walking Dead.

5. Sunglasses! I've been raving about sunglasses since March, but I never got to buy a pair until recently. Otherwise, I wore the sunglasses I won from Lara Lizard's giveaway forever ago. I love them to death, but I still can't help but want more sunglasses in every design possible!

Rant
1. All this snow. And I know I already listed that as a Rave but it's a love/hate relationship really. I love how pretty freshly fallen snow looks, but I can't stand the cold at all, and I absolutely hate when the roads are slick, because that means less time with the boyfriend, friends, and shopping. I don't like being cooped up at home when there are things to do!

2. I can't stand people that hate on other people because of the clothes they choose to wear. I mean, if the clothing has inappropriate pictures or phrases and that upsets you, that's understandable. But saying mean, horrible things to women because their clothing doesn't cover their legs, stomach, or cleavage as much as you want it to? Not cool. Not cool at all.

3. How expensive is Christmas! Agh. I feel like I'm spending every cent I have on people this year. Which feels good when I do it, but then I see pretty things I want for myself and feel sad when I look in my wallet. But once Christmas day comes and I get to watch family and friends open their presents, and see their smiles (hopefully), I know it will all be worth it.

4. My dad trading his Xbox One for a PS4. I don't really have anything against Sony's game systems. Playstation's get some amazing games after all. But Xbox One had fitness, which I desperately needed for trying to lose weight before Christmas. Now I'm finding it impossible to work out since it's so cold. I miss the Xbox One.

5. Getting Eyeliner even is impossible. AGH. That is all.

My list isn't very large. Maybe I'll do better next time!
