Getting fit for 2013

Hey guys! Look what I bought!

I am literally super excited to start using these things. I've always loved Jillian Michaels, ever since I first saw her on the Biggest Loser so many years ago. She's just so passionate about helping people lose weight (and insanely tough on people to get results). Her and Cassey from Blogilates have to be my favorite fitness instructors of all time. I was actually doing a lot of Cassey's videos for a while, but since she's on Youtube, I could only do it in front of my laptop, and it was getting pretty uncomfortable trying to crane my neck to see what she was doing while trying to keep up.

So when I heard about Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, I decided I needed to give it a try. I read a ton of success stories from places like MyFitnessPal and SparkPeople, and it was motivational enough that I decided I could give it a try. The video is pretty cheap at Walmart (less than ten dollars) and the 3lb weights were a little under four dollar each. So in total, not too bad.

I plan to start the video tomorrow and use it everyday for the next 30 days (while maybe throwing in some blogilates as well!) and I'm going to do my best to eat better.

Not tonight though! Tonight, I'm indulging in some delicious brownies with vanilla ice cream. A great start to my weightloss? No. But I'll do better in the coming weeks. I'm hoping to lose in total 20 lbs. I lost 16 lbs around this time last year with some serious hours dedicated to a video game called Dance Central 2. Then I got a new job and just stopped caring about my health since my work was stressing me out. But now it's back to getting fit and healthy.

I hope to reach a low, healthy weight by the anime convention I'm going to this summer, which takes place at the end of July. So plenty of time to get in shape!

I'll keep you guys updated once a week (maybe little updates more often) as to how it's going. Telling you guys is going to be what helps keeps me motivated! I want to show you guys Before/After pictures that I can be proud of!

Wish me luck! (Now I'm off to enjoy some yummy brownies and build a farm in Minecraft. The hard work starts tomorrow!)

Until Next Time,
Bye Lovelies! ♥

  1. Good luck with your weightloss, don't forget working out is only half the battle! Make sure you drink lots of water and eat well. And don't take it too seriously, either, like anything in life.

    1. Thank you! And yeah, eating well is going to be a lot harder for me, since I love really fatty, salty foods... -sigh- But water is basically all I drink, so that's no problem.
And no worries about taking it too seriously. I love getting fit when I have the motivation from it. :)

  2. You'll probably find this funny, but I've used this video myself! I came across it a few years ago while flipping through the cardio section of my cable provider's on demand service and decided to give it a try. It's one of the few video workout routines that have really kicked my butt, so hopefully you'll benefit from it, too. Speaking of which, I think you've just reminded me that I need to get back to it again :)

    1. Glad to hear someone else has used it! You should definitely get back to it. I tried it today for the first time, and Oh. My. Gosh. I don't know how I survived. It was crazy!

And yet I'm still excited for doing it all over again tomorrow, haha!

    2. Ha ha! Well, I'm glad you not only survived but are eager to try it again. I think I might go back to it today myself. Ack! Wish me luck :)

    3. Oh man, I was eager yesterday, but with how sore I am today, it's going to be a struggle to get through it, haha.

I'm determined to do it all though. And I've heard it gets easier/less painful over time. So I'm definitely looking forward to that!

      And good luck! :)

  3. I have several DVDs by Jillian Michaels that my mom bought years ago. I never tried any of them because none of were the intense workout that I was looking for.

Good luck with your weight loss! I'm trying too, with a combination of regularly attending my kickboxing classes and eating healthier. Even our goals are the same! We can keep each other in check ;)

    1. Kickboxing classes sound like a lot of fun! If I had the money, I would definitely give those a try.

And awesome, I'm glad to know someone has similar goals to me! It'll be great motivation to make sure I keep on track! :) We can do it!

    1. I'll definitely let you know!
All I know so far is that since I did two rounds of level one yesterday, I don't even want to move today! I'm hoping that means it's working, haha.
