The Sunday Social {Link Up} New Years Eve!

Hey everyone!

I'm going to do the Sunday social again this week, so if you decide to do it as well, let me know in the comments below so I can read your answers!

Sunday Social

1. What is the best New Years Eve you've ever had?
I don't really remember many New Years Eves, but the one that most sticks out in my mind was the New Years Eve party an aunt of mine threw for the year 2000. Everyone was talking about the world ending, and instead of being freaked out like I'm sure some 8 year olds had to be, I thought it was great fun! I remember me and my cousin, who was also 8, decided we wanted to try out 'Bloody Mary', since we were up quite late and trying to find things to do so we didn't fall asleep before midnight. I can remember standing in front of the mirror, and I remember being really freaked out, but I really can't remember what happened otherwise! Still, it was a great night!

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?
Yep! As far as I know, the family is getting together, and we're going to spend NYE at my grandparent's house playing cards and gambling all our money away, haha! Then probably head back to my house, and bring in the New Year.

3. Name a book we should all read come January?
If you haven't yet, read the Harry Potter books. And if you have already done that, you need to read the Hunger Games, and the Pendragon series!

4. What are your new year's resolutions?
Haven't really had the time yet to think this through, but off the top of my head, I would say my New Year's resolutions are:
1. Lose the last 15 lbs I want to lose before summer.
2. Blog at least 5 times each month.
3. Learn how to properly apply eyeliner.
4. Start learning how to sew!

Link me to your answers in the comments, or just go ahead and comment your answers below if you'd like! I'd love to read them!

The Cutest Barefoot Sandals Ever

Hey everyone!

I just got the cutest barefoot sandals ever. (At least I think so!)

Ack, I do not like my feet. I bravely put these on my feet so I can show them off to you, and convince you that you need a pair in your life. (Because you do. They're too cute not to own!)

I ended up getting these for free from winning a small guessing contest on Catherine Cole Studio's Facebook. I got to choose between silver and gold (which was incredibly difficult to do! I love both the colors), and finally decided on silver after quite a few moments of careful consideration. I figured it would match more of my outfits/jewelry.

You can check out her barefoot sandals, and all of her other super cute things, at her site Catherine Cole Studio! There you can find more barefoot sandals, lace socks, jewelry, and more. I really love her shop!

The barefoot sandals came in a cute little packaging, kept very neat and not tangled or anything (which is something I had a problem with when ordering jewelry from a big store, so this was a pleasant surprise!).

Overall, I am very happy with these. I love the way they fit on my feet. They're adjustable for any size ankle, and the part that goes around the toe is quite wide. They're very comfy to wear. I highly recommend you check out her shop and see if anything strikes your fancy. You're sure to find something!

Have you ever worn Barefoot Sandals? Where do you/would you wear them?

So Ends Another Christmas

Hey everyone!

How was your Christmas? Did you get everything you wanted? (Tell me in the comments below, I'm super interested in hearing what everyone got! )

The hectic days of Christmas planning and family gatherings is finally at a close, and now I'm here with a mug of hot, delicious latte, and two slices of cinnamon bread, winding down for the day. It feels nice to not be panicking about getting things done, or how much time I'll have to do something. The most I have to worry about tomorrow is getting the house clean after all this Christmas mayhem, and finishing my video game before I have to return it at the end of the year.

It's a relaxing, fulfilling feeling, knowing I got everything done I needed to.

Everyone seemed to love the cards I made them, so that felt pretty nice. The compliments I received had me smiling for the whole of Christmas Eve. And everyone seemed to like the gifts I got them too. At least, they told me they did!

And I got my cookies made for everyone! They were pretty disgusting, I have to admit. Jolly Ranchers and sugar cookies just do not go well together! But they were pretty to look at anyway!

I got a lot of compliments on the look, but none on the taste, haha! My boyfriend was sweet and told me he liked them though (I don't believe him).

I also made some Oreo balls that turned out super rich, but only ended up with enough chocolate to get half of them frosted. Whoops!

Now, fast forwarding to Christmas Eve, here are some pictures I took:

A picture of my make up when going to the Christmas Eve gathering. Kept it simple to try to make my lips stand out. Red(ish) lips, red roses on my jewelry, and red shoes, with an otherwise completely black outfit. It looked pretty nice, but I forgot to take pictures! Sorry!

Santa came to visit!

My (fairly poor) attempt at dark red nails.  With glitter! Unfortunately, I didn't realize glitter nail polish was such a pain to get off! Scratched the heck out of my poor nails trying.

And a gift from my darling grandparents. I love crosses, and I love hearts. So, you know, perfect gift!

After the party with my family ended, we headed to the boyfriend's family's get together next. They were so lovely to me there (I really do love his family to bits!) and they got me wonderful gifts! His aunt even got me the Essie Nail Polish I've been dying for!

She got me the nail polishes in (from left to right) Lilacism, Mint Candy Apple, and Muchi Muchi. I then painted my nails Christmas morning with Muchi Muchi and it was the loveliest shade of pink I've ever had in a nail polish.

(I'll be sure to show off the other two here once I try them out too!)

And then Christmas day came and I got really lovely gifts from the boyfriend and my parents.

Stockings full for me, and the puppies. (And the boyfriend too, but his was too far away to get a picture of.)

And then guess what I got?

An Xbox One! So happy! I finally have one of my own now after having to watch everyone around me playing with theirs! This baby's all mine!

And, as you can see in the above pictures, I also got plenty of make up (yay!) and I got nail art brushes, which I'm super excited to try out. I got a shrug from Steampunk Couture which I've been wanting for so long, and also the Ace Attorney series which I'm really excited to start playing!

And, of course, my shoes I showed you all before! Now with pink lace laces! I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it pink or find an ivory color for it, but it went pretty well with my Christmas day outfit, so I was happy with the result!

And my boyfriend made me this very pretty drawing of a rose. I asked him for something handmade this year, since he usually buys me thing at Christmas and I was dying to have something handmade from him. And this is beautiful. So happy!

And speaking of the boyfriend, I made him a handmade gift as well, titled 'The ABC's of Our Love'. I forgot to take pictures (I'll show you guys later, promise!), but he seemed to like it at least. then I also got him a Blackbeard action figure, from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (his favorite character, and a little mini turret in a random color from Portal.

And though this really wasn't technically a Christmas present, it was free, and arrived from Nintendo on Christmas Eve. So I'm just going to call this Nintendo's Christmas present to me!

It's the Zelda Majora's Mask official soundtrack I told you about during summer! It finally arrived. I haven't opened it yet, but I cant wait to listen to the music!

The rest of the day was pretty nice, I got dressed up again and went to my grandparents' house again for a Christmas dinner with the family. I love how often I get to see my family around this time of year!

Here's my Christmas outfit. And no, it's not very Christmas-y at all! My black/red outfit Christmas Eve was my Christmas outfit though. This one I just wanted to pair with my new shoes! I needed a cardigan or shrug for it to work well for Winter, but it wasn't so bad. I am actually wearing tights. They're just a shade of pink that's apparently hard to see in this light.

And my make up! Wearing the make up that my parents got me in addition to some older ones. I'm really in love with my new make up.

And to finish off the lovely holiday, my boyfriend and I trying on silly glasses my little cousin got from Santa. We're looking studly.

So how did you spend your Christmas, and what all did you get? Let me know in the comments below!

All I Want for Christmas is...

Hey everyone!

Christmas Eve is tomorrow! I'm so very excited!

I have no idea if I'm actually getting anything for Christmas Eve, since it's Christmas Day that I get to open everything under my tree. But getting to be around family tomorrow will be super fun by itself! (And eating all those sweets! Yum!)

But with Christmas so quickly approaching, I find myself finding more and more things that I want from Santa. Sadly, with Christmas being so close, I can't hope to get these new finds for Christmas. But at least I might get some Christmas money with which to buy all the things I didn't manage to get under my tree this year.

(All Photos belong to shop owners)
1. Desire Chain from Catherine Cole Studio.
2. ASOS Large Satchel Bag from ASOS.
3. Assassin's Creed IV Hidden Blade from Gamestop.
4. Linen Amber Vest from Timjan Design.
5. Lace Radiance from Catherine Cole Studio.
6. 3DS XL/PS Vita Hard case from Designs by Derilyn.
7. Pink/White corset from Ethereal Threads.

What are you hoping for this Christmas?

The Sunday Social {Link Up}

Hey everyone!

Popped back onto the blog to do a fun link up I've been wanting to do for a while! And since it's a Christmas one this week, I definitely just had to do it. Please do check it out, and if you do it, be sure to link me to it! I'd love to read your answers.

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite holiday season tradition?
I have two favorites. All of the family gathering together on Christmas Eve to open presents together from each other. (Although I admit, it's a little depressing now since I'm so old, I don't get many presents on that day!) And my second favorite would have to be giving my puppies presents to unwrap. This is the first Christmas with the new puppies though, so I have no idea if they'll be smart enough to figure out how to unwrap their gifts!
My last dog, Chomper, tearing open another Christmas present.

2. Do you have a certain holiday movie you watch more than others? If so, what is it?
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) was my absolute favorite holiday movie growing up. I would watch it all the time, even when it was no where near Christmas time! I just loved the Grinch. The movie made in 2000 was pretty fantastic too.

3. Show us your favorite decoration or pinterest decoration you wish you could have?
I have a ton of different decorations I wish I could have for Christmas. My favorite at my house is probably my nativity scene since I love that, but choosing a pinterest decoration, I'd have to either say those orbs of water/food coloring you put out in the snow, which I cannot find the photo for, or these tulle lights.

4. What is your favorite holiday song?
I previously answered a question like this before, and said "Baby, It's Cold Outside". But then I remembered the song I've been obsessed with since I was quite little (I can't believe I forgot about it in the first place!) and so I can say with confidence that my favorite holiday song is "Silent Night".

5. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Ack, this question is a lot harder. I'm sort of in love with Cinnamon Bread, which I make every year for Christmas. But I also love the monster cookies one of my aunts always brings to the family gathering each year. So good!

6. What is on your wish list this year?
Way too many things to list. I'm putting up a little mini wishlist tomorrow though. You can check back for that, if you're really curious. Otherwise, off the top of my head, an Xbox One, a shrug from Steampunk Couture, and a homemade gift from the boyfriend!

If you do this link up, let me know! Or answer the questions in the comments so I can read them!

New Make-up!

Hey everyone!

So here's the make-up post that I was going to put up yesterday but got pushed back because of the lovely corset I received. (Still so happy about that!) So now, expect a lot of pictures of my face past this point.

I recently got quite a few new make-up items, so I decided to just go ahead and try all of them out together. I'm pretty happy with the results. Here's what I used:

1. Hard Candy's Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer
2. Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfecter BB Cream
3. Maybelline Fit Me! Blush
4. Maybelline Eyeshadow
5. e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner
6. Covergirl Exact Eyelights Brightening Liner
7. Benefit Watt's Up Highligher
8. Benefit They're Real! Mascara
9. Maybelline Plum-Tastic Lipstick
10. Maybelline Plum-Tastic Lipstick

Out of these ten (wow, there's a lot of make up on my face) products, numbers 2, 5, 7, and 8 were new. 1 is still kind of new, but I've used it before, so we're not going to count it.

Alright! Blank canvas. Just awoken blank canvas, so I'm trying to look awake. I think that resulted in maybe a slightly creepy smile? Meh.

Covering up those pesky dark circles (mostly, anyway). Ugh, how I loathe thee, dark circles.

Now, time to use some of my new BB Cream. This was given to me by my very amazing aunt (Thanks so much! I know you're reading this!).

I've never actually used BB Cream before, but I've heard good things about it, so I was pumped to give this a try.

And boom, there it is on me. (Sorry for the extreme close up!)

I think it has sort of a yellowish undertone? But I think my skin already has a yellowish undertone anyway, so I'm fine with that. I also have very pale skin though. I like it quite a bit, but does it seem light enough for my skin tone? Opinions, I need them! I'm happy that it seems to give my face a bit of color though.

And now with the blush/eye make-up. I actually really like my little sample bottle of They're Real!. I think I might end up going and getting the full size bottle once this runs out.

I like They're Real! a lot more than my old Falsies mascara, I think. And the e.l.f. eyeliner is quite nice too. Only problem I had with it was that I had to keep dipping the brush in the eyeliner, because it doesn't hold much on it.

Also I need to learn how to stop flinching each time cold liquid eyeliner touches my eyelid. Ugh.

And here it all is together. Over all, I'm quite happy with it. (Not very happy with my hair, but that's another issue entirely).

While I don't see much of a need for the Watt's Up highlighter, everything else was pretty fantastic and I'm very happy with the result.

And now for a couple pictures in natural lighting, and not the cold, harsh lighting of my bathroom.

What are your favorite make-up items? Let me know in the comments!
